Soul of Brazil, produced by Jacques Burvick and Duke Jones, represents a fusion of Brazilian sounds and American urban soul. This fusion, derived from the mixing of traditional R&B rhythms and Jazz chords of North America with rhythms unique to Samba, Bolero and Bossa Nova sounds of Brazil, creates a hybrid genre that reaches a wide demographic of music lovers.

While the music is appealing to a diverse demographic of consumers, it was designed especially to appeal to African-American women. The CD will launch YOU Records, a subsidiary of COS Media Holdings, LLC. The new label is founded by Clarence O. Smith, president emeritus and co-founder of Essence Communications Partners (EPC), publisher of Essence Magazine.

Having grown Essence Magazine into a highly celebrated premier lifestyle publication, Smith can be credited with creating the model for advertising and marketing to African-American women. YOU Records will symbolize the next wave in a cultural lifestyle.
